The Los Angeles Alumni Chapter was chartered August 8, 1938. We are the very first alumni chapter established in the great Western Province.
We are the home of various notable Brothers including three Past Grand Polemarchs, eleven Past Western Province Polemarchs, three Laurel Wreath Laureates, and five Elder Watson Diggs Awardees.
Under the chairmanship of Brother Mel Davis and with the able assistance of Brother Edgar H. Bishop, the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter’s Social Action/Guide Right Program took the form of a training activity for young men of the Alain Le Roy Locke High School in the late 1960’s. Called the Kappa League, it was designed to help young men in high school to grow and develop their leadership talents in every phase of human development. The program was adopted by all chapters at the 56th Grand Chapter meeting in 1970.
We are honored to be the birthplace of the annual Black & White Ball - one of the most elegant social affairs in the nation. Brothers, visitors, and their guests from throughout the nation attend and offer rave reviews.
The LA Nupes are also proud owners of the Kappa Kastle, a stunning fraternity house at 1846 Crenshaw Boulevard. A beautifully landscaped and gated home with front and back yards, meeting rooms, game room, offices, bar area, living room, full professional kitchen, and private parking lot.
